  • Specialization

  • My specialty is cultural anthropology.

  • I work in northern Pakistan. My research project aims to study the development processes by focusing on women’s engagement in development. Grounded within critical approaches to development, my project will explore gender gaps and asymmetries in power relations embedded within local, national, and global structural systems. My research examines how transnational infrastructure development projects between Pakistan and China are remapping local space in Gilgit-Baltistan. My focus is to analyze how changes in infrastructure transform local space and how in turn this affects gender and power relations within the region. My research advisor is Dr. Ellen Gruenbaum.
