Dr. Wren is a biological anthropologist whose research and teaching interests include primate behavior, ecology, health, sociality, and evolution. Her recent research examines the intersection of sociality, specifically grooming, and health, specifically infection with gastrointestinal parasites. She also contributes to studies on human-wildlife conflict in an agricultural setting and bushbaby ecology. Her work is based in South Africa, and she collaborates with the Applied Behavioural Ecology and Ecosystem Research Unit (ABEERU) at UNISA in South Africa. Her research has been funded by the Wenner-Gren Foundation and the Leakey Foundation, as well as Purdue University and Ball State University. Dr. Wren is the founder of Sepela Field Programs and has taught field courses on primatology in South Africa since 2007.
