Marty Welch

Director of Account Development, American Express Company, Avon, IN 

Marty Welch has been with the American Express Company for the past nine years and currently is a Director of Market Development, leading a sales force across eight states in the Midwestern US, working with establishments that accept the American Express Card in growing their business. Most recently, Marty led her team to a #1 ranking for Top Sales Performance for both 2008 and 2009. In addition, Marty was recognized with the Top Leadership Award for American Express Field Client Management in the US, as well as a Global Leadership Award for Global Merchant Services in each of the last two years.

Prior to joining American Express, Marty worked with Office Depot Business Services Division in Delray Beach, Florida negotiating Strategic Alliances within eMarketplace Portals. She held other Sales Management positions during her time with that company as well.

Marty was associated with Executone Business Systems, a leader in small business telephone equipment and healthcare communication systems for fourteen years. After serving in a variety of sales and management positions, Marty became a Vice President for Executone of Northwest Ohio, followed by Vice President/General Manager of Executone Indianapolis. Adding the dual title of General Manager provided Marty the added distinction of being the first female GM within Executone’s broad network of over 250 offices nationwide.

Throughout her professional career, Marty has been recognized with numerous Sales Performance and Leadership Awards throughout her career. She has been a past member and officer of the Administrative Management Society, past member of the Indianapolis Rotary, current member of the President’s Council at Purdue University, the John Purdue Club, the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Advisory Council and a member of the CLA Alumni Board since 2005.
