A Hearty Welcome to Our Students!

The AASRC offers a wide range of courses in the area of African American Studies. As a student in the program, you will have the opportunity to not only take classes through African American Studies, but in the departments of History, English, Sociology, Political Science, Performing Arts and others! The program, located in the College of Liberal Arts, is dedicated to the study of the history, culture, and literature of African Americans and their connections to the African Diaspora in the Caribbean and Latin America.  Thus, select courses provide you with the opportunity to study abroad!  Take a look at the course requirements necessary to earn a major or minor in African American Studies.
