Professor Solomon has extensive clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of voice disordered individuals.  Her responsibilities as a member of the clinical faculty include supervision of graduate students in management programs for children and adults with voice problems, coordinating the healthcare externship program, and team teaching the Voice disorders and Medical Speech-Language Pathology courses.

Professor Solomon's interests include the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders throughout the lifespan.  She is responsible for establishing practicum experiences with otolaryngology outpatient facilities and for the development of the videotapes entitled Voice Problems in Children and Adults, Using Your Voice to Improve Your Teaching, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies for the Voice Disordered Client, The Prevention of Voice Problems in Children, Prevention of Voice Disorders in Children: An Audience Participation Slide Program, a child's activity book for the prevention of voice disorders, and a slide presentation entitled, Care of the Professional Voice. Professor Solomon has presented numerous times at local, state and national levels on the topic of diagnostic and therapeutic management of voice disordered children and adults, voice outcome tools, as well as the topic of administration and supervision.  In addition, she collaborates with the Theatre Department in developing prevention, diagnostic, and therapy programs for individuals who are professional actors/speakers.

Professor Solomon holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and professional licensure from the state of Indiana. She is an active member of the Indiana Speech- Language-Hearing Association, the Specialty Interest Division in Administration and Supervision and the Indiana Voice and Dysphagia Network. Her responsibilities have also included representing the State of Indiana as ASHA Legislative Councilor and participating on the program committee for the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has been awarded the distinction of Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Honors of the Indiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
