The Italian program offers language (levels I-VI), literature, film, and culture courses. It offers an interdisciplinary major in Italian Studies as part of the IDIS Program (Director, Ben Lawton), in conjunction with courses from the departments of Foreign Languages & Literatures, Visual and Performing Arts, and History. The department of Foreign Languages and Literature also offers a minor in Italian. The section is comprised of two professors, a continuing lecturer, and several wonderful teaching assistants.
In 1995 the Italian section established a summer program in Florence, Italy in collaboration with Arizona State University and Dominican University.
