Visiting Instructor
Brian Lamb School of Communication

Jeremy Foote joins Purdue as a visiting instructor in organizational communication in the Brian Lamb School of Communication and faculty fellow in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program.

Foote will complete a Ph.D. at Northwestern University this year and has a master’s degree from Purdue, both in media, technology, and society. He also earned a B.A. in English at Brigham Young University.

His current research is focused around using computational social science approaches like simulation and large-scale data analysis to study the early stages of online communities. His ongoing projects look at how people perceive their environment and decide which groups to participate in across a number of online and offline contexts, with the goal of understanding why some groups and organizations grow and succeed while many do not.
