Marcus Mann joins Purdue as an assistant professor of sociology and faculty fellow in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program.

Mann completed a Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology at Duke University, an M.A. in religious studies at Duke University, and a B.A. in English at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

His research uses computational methods to examine political polarization as it relates to the formation of politically partisan knowledge. This research program has led to recent working papers on topics like political echo-chambers on social media, conservative understandings of science, and partisan asymmetries in susceptibility to political disinformation.
