John Wells received his doctorate in English from Temple in 2005. He specializes in literary criticism, modernist and postmodernist fiction, and the history of the novel. His research has emphasized how Frankfurt School theory discloses the civic function of aesthetic experience that poststructuralist theory had largely disavowed. He has published in Word & Image, Critique, Telos, and Crossings: A Counter-Disciplinary Journal among other places. His office is BRNG 1135 and his email is wellsje@purdue.edu.
