Jaakko works on primarily on continental philosophy, especially the theme of subjectivity in the early work of Gilles Deleuze. His other interests are ancient philosophy, Kant and phenomenology. Before coming to Purdue, Jaakko received his B.A. and M.A. in theoretical philosophy from the University of Helsinki. He also holds an M.A. in art education from Aalto University. Jaakko is originally from Finland. He is a graduate student representative at the Philosophy department for the academic year 2022–2023.
