Purdue music professor named Outstanding Emerging Researcher

Christopher Cayari HeadshotAssistant Professor of Music, Christopher Cayari, Ph.D., from the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, was named the 2021 Outstanding Emerging Researcher by the Center for Music Education Research for his article “Learning strategies of video game music makers: Informal and school-based learning for online publication” in the International Journal of Music Education. A video version of his article is also available on YouTube.

The Outstanding Emerging Researcher Award is a biannual award given by the Center for Music Education Research at the Suncoast Music Education Research Symposium. The research was partially funded by an ASPIRE Research Enhancement Grant from the Purdue University College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office.
