Susan Shook

SVP, Associate General Counsel, Digital and Data Assets

McKesson Corporation

Susan Shook joined McKesson as Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Digital and Data Assets in March 2021.  In this newly created role, Susan leads the newly formed Digital and Data Assets legal team in providing legal guidance and strategic advice to our partners in various technology, information security and business groups across the enterprise.  She seeks to help enable the strategic data and digital plans of the McKesson business portfolios, which contemplate increasing linkages through emerging technology, artificial intelligence, and data analytics while simultaneously managing data rights, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and other technology- and data-related risks.  She is also involved in structuring, negotiating and advising on various technology-related transactions with business partners and customers.

Prior to joining McKesson, Susan amassed just shy of 25 years of in-house experience at The Procter & Gamble Company, which included various substantive legal counseling rotations (intellectual property, corporate/securities law, antitrust and advertising law), and – in her last 12+ years there – she built and steered P&G’s inaugural global privacy, cybersecurity and IT law group.  In that role at Procter & Gamble, she served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel & Global Privacy Officer, where she led a multi-regional team of legal and technical professionals responsible for providing innovation and compliance risk management counseling to global Marketing, IT, HR, global business services and other functional clients on privacy, cybersecurity, social media and mobile technology legal issues.  Her team also handled the drafting and negotiation of privacy and nuanced digital technology contracts as well as the tech and privacy law compliance vetting and regulatory-required documentation associated with enterprise and business-specific technology proposals.

Susan graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington, where she received her Juris Doctorate.  She also holds B.S. (mathematics) and B.A (English, French) degrees, each with highest distinction, from Purdue University.

Susan is married (husband Jim, also a Purdue alum: B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.) and has three children, Anna, Grace and Joe.
