Susan M. Shook, serves as the Global Privacy Officer at The Procter & Gamble Company.  She is also Director - Associate General Counsel leading the Global Privacy, Cybersecurity and IT Law team, a group of specialist attorneys within P&G’s Legal Division.  Her career at P&G spans 20 years, and she has worked in multiple legal rotations including IP law (trademarks, copyright, rights of publicity), advertising law, corporate and securities law, and antitrust law before specializing this past decade in digital, privacy, and cybersecurity legal issues. Her team works closely with almost all business units and functions within P&G, from Marketing to IT to HR.

Ms. Shook graduated from Purdue University in 1992 with a B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. degrees in English and in French.  She spent a year of study abroad in France and also worked for several years at the Purdue Exponent newspaper, both experiences she enjoyed immensely.  After graduating from Purdue, she attended Indiana University School of Law, graduating in 1996.   She firmly believes that the diverse courses she took and the stellar, dedicated professors she had during her undergraduate and law school years were instrumental in helping her learn how to analyze complex issues and to integrate learning that has been key to her legal practice and client counseling over the past two decades.

Ms. Shook is married to Jim Bradtmueller (a Purdue graduate, too – B.S., M.A., and PhD) and they have three children.  Susan’s hobbies and passions include music (mandolin, piano), sports (cross country coach for many years), international travel, and reading (fiction and nonfiction alike).
