John Cessna graduated in 2010 with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Arts in ETB and Photography. He is currently an Instructional Learning Intermediate at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. John has also held appointments as a Visiting Lecturer in the Photography program at Purdue, and as Multimedia Director for Yobi.TV.

John received his BA from Purdue University in 2007 in Film/Video Studies, graduating with Full Honors and Distinction. That year he was also the Outstanding Senior in Interdisciplinary Studies and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

John's work centers around the constructed image (both still and moving) influenced by the surreal and suburban. As a graduate student at Purdue, he was a teaching/research assistant for Professor Bill Callison helping write a new textbook, An Introduction to Technical Video Production.
