ICaP Workshops

ICaP workshops feature peer guest speakers sharing their expertise based in their research and/or teaching experience. These workshops aim to facilitate knowledge sharing amongst peers and offer professional development for instructors.

Below, you will find the workshops to look forward to this academic year. Links to slide decks and materials will be posted following each workshop under Past Workshops & Events.

Complimentary coffee and donuts will be provided at each workshop meeting this semester.

 

2022-2023 Workshops


Professional Website Workshop

Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 - drop in from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This workshop was for English Department graduate students to either start a professional website from scratch or make improvements to their existing website. Professional Writing and ICaP will provided a guide to content, web design, best practices, custom domains, embedding documents, and more. Attendees stopped by for the coffee and donuts and/or for the one-on-one help, peer review, and dedicated website work time.

Professional Development Materials

Instructors are encouraged to bring drafts of their job market materials (CVs, cover letters, teaching portfolios, etc.) to this workshop, where they can expect to receive one-on-one feedback from faculty.
