Your Itinerary: Preparing for Your Arrival

Immigration

The International Students and Scholars (ISS) Office is your one-stop shop for immigration matters.  Upon arrival, you will attend the ISS WOW! (Weeks of Welcome) orientation program and learn how to maintain your non-immigrant status.  In the meantime, you can use the Prepare to be Wow’ed! guidebook for information on paying your SEVIS fee, making travel arrangements, preparing for the Port of Entry, and more!

Housing

Housing and Food Services is the place to start when it comes to housing.  If you want to live on-campus, you’ll have to sign a housing contract.  You can also choose from various meal plans, allowing you the convenience of eating in Purdue’s Dining Courts.  If you plan to live off-campus, it’s recommended to make your housing arrangements prior to your arrival.

Health

All international students are required to purchase health insurance. You can find specific requirements on the Purdue University Student Health Center (PUSH) website. You must also complete state immunization requirements which can be documented by completing the Medical History Form. Additionally, you must take a tuberculosis (TB) test after arriving in the U.S. This can be done at PUSH.
