Why did you choose Purdue University and the College of Liberal Arts?

I knew from my campus visit that I wanted to attend Purdue – great campus, great people, and great academics.  I originally attended Purdue for veterinary medicine, but decided in my second year that I wanted to refocus.  I chose to pursue my liberal arts degrees because I liked the diverse curriculum and ability to get exposed to a variety of subject areas.

Describe some of the experiences that has led to your success.

Part of my success at Purdue and beyond has been my desire to get involved.  My college success was driven by the organizations and programs in which I was invested in – College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Ambassadors, College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Advisory Council, a campus Tour Guide, and Boiler Gold Rush.  Throughout these activities, I developed not only a great network of support and friends, but I also learned many skills that I still use today.

When you think about Liberal Arts and Purdue what is meaningful to you?

I think about the large network of fellow Boilermakers across the country and around the world that I know I can rely on and support me.  Also, the amazing experiences and relationships that I have developed by stepping out and being involved.  Not being afraid to go beyond my comfort zone.

What’s your favorite memory from your time as a student?

My memories working in the prospective student recruitment offices within the College of Liberal Arts and Purdue Office of Admissions.  I enjoyed meeting incoming Boilermakers and sharing my Purdue story.

How has your Liberal Arts education helped you to make an impact on the world?

I have learned how to think critically and communicate effectively.  I currently use many of the skills gained at Purdue to work for a company that is changing how healthcare is delivered in the United States.
