Robert Perrucci

Please join me in congratulating Robert Perrucci, Professor Emeritus of sociology, on being one of the twenty senior sociologists nationwide selected to write a chapter in the American Sociological Association sponsored project, Journeys in Sociology: From First Encounters to Fulfilling Retirements, edited by R. B. Darling and P. J. Stein (Temple University Press). The chapter will regard the role sociology plays in his life.

Bob is also the author or editor of nineteen books and more than ninety book chapters and research articles in leading journals, including five in the American Sociological Review, on topics related to work and occupations, complex organizations, and the impact of the global economy on workers, communities, and structures of inequality.

Two of his books have received the Scholarly Achievement Award from the North Central Sociological Association, and he has received Distinguished Alumnus Awards from the State University of New York at Cortland and Purdue University. In 2005, he received the Lee Founders Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for the Study of Social Problems, and in 2008, the J. Milton Yinger Award for a Lifetime Distinguished Career from the North Central Sociological Association.

Bob has just completed his twentieth book, co-authored with Earl Wysong, Inequality Wars: New Normal Meets Structural Reality, (Roman and Littlefield Press).
