Editors of Inquiries in Hispanic Linguistics: From Theory to Empirical Evidence
Please join me in congratulating Alejandro Cuza, associate professor of Spanish and linguistics, Lori Czerwionka, assistant professor of Spanish and linguistics, and Daniel J. Olson, assistant professor of Spanish and linguistics, for their new volume “Inquiries in Hispanic Linguistics: From Theory to Empirical Evidence”, published by John Benjamins. The volume showcases current research in Hispanic linguistics in relation to formal and empirical approaches to Spanish syntax and semantics, phonetics and phonology, and language contact and variation.
Alejandro’s research examines the effects of linguistic and psycholinguistic factors in the acquisition of Spanish morphosyntax and semantics in bilingual children, heritage speakers, and second language learners. Lori’s research addresses Spanish pragmatics and second language learners' development of pragmatic norms and intercultural competence. Daniel’s main focus of research is phonetics and psycholinguistics, particularly of bilingual populations.
