Please join me in congratulating Richard K. Thomas, a professor in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts for Theatre for receiving the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) Distinguished Achievement Award in Sound Design & Technology.
Every year USITT recognizes a select few members whose careers have advanced the performing arts and live entertainment industry. Rick, a Fellow of USITT and active member in the USITT Annual Conference and Stage Expo, is receiving the award for his commitment to excellence in theatre design, sound, and technology. He has enjoyed a long, successful career as a composer, sound designer, author, playmaker, and educator.
