Amber Nickell

Please join me in congratulating Amber Nickell, PhD student in history and Jewish Studies, for being awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for the 2017-2018 academic year and being awarded a Research and Training in Eastern Europe and Eurasia Fellowship by the U.S. State Department.

This summer Amber will be studying Ukrainian at Indiana University; admittance to these language workshops are hard to obtain. She was also awarded an Auschwitz Jewish Center Fellowship last summer. As part of her fellowship, she worked with leading Holocaust scholars in Poland studying Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust.

Last year, Amber was invited to participate in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s 2016 seminar for early PhD students, “A Research Introduction to the Holocaust in the Soviet Union” as part of the Jewish Studies Noon Lecture Series.

Congratulations, Amber!
