Department of Philosophy
taylordavis@purdue.edu

Taylor Davis completed a BS in Psychology at the University of Georgia, an MA in Philosophy at Tufts University, and a PhD in Philosophy at the University of British Columbia. His research addresses the role of evolutionary theory, and especially cultural evolution, in explaining religion, morality, and norms in general.

Davis joined the Department of Philosophy in 2014 as a member of the Building Sustainable Communities cluster hire. In that capacity, his research applies theories of norm evolution and norm psychology to norms of sustainability. Many of his projects have an empirical component, while others are purely conceptual.
