Triota
Iota, Iota, Iota (Triota) Honor Society
The Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies Program is proud to announce the establishment of a new national honor society at Purdue University: Iota, Iota, Iota.
"Triota" is the academic honor society for the field of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Triota works to enhance the experience of students in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies as well as recognizing their academic achievements. In addition to encouraging and supporting scholarly excellence in the field, members pledge to maintain feminist values central to Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. These include: egalitarianism, inclusiveness, and the celebration of the diversity of gendered experiences. “Triota” is named for the ancient goddesses, Inanna, Isthar, and Isis.
The goals and governance of Purdue University’s Epsilon Kappa chapter of Triota are outlined in its Constitution.
