Minor in Portuguese

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese also offers a Minor in Portuguese for undergraduate students. This minor require students to complete a total of 15 credits.

The Minor in Portuguese Language, Literature, and Cultures equips students with intercultural skills, critical thinking, and advanced linguistic abilities. Within this concentration, students will gain an understanding of the history, politics, and expressive cultures of the Lusophone world, encompassing Brazil, Portugal, and Luso-Africa. They'll develop a unique focus on critical issues related to Lusophone education, history, and literature while being encouraged to carve their own paths, fostering independent thinking and academic exploration.
