Why did you choose to study at Purdue?

I chose Purdue because of its strong engineering program and the wide range of interdisciplinary opportunities available. At Purdue, I've taken diverse classes like AI and society and hands-on chemistry courses where I got to do experiments. Outside of class, I've been part of a religious community, which has been a meaningful part of my college experience. Purdue has provided a great environment for me to explore different interests and grow academically.

What are some of your goals and plans at Purdue and after you graduate?

My objectives at Purdue University involve mastering my field of study and acquiring the skills necessary to contribute positively to society. I plan to engage in internships, participate in clubs, and actively pursue learning opportunities. After graduation, I aim to secure a position where I can apply my knowledge to solve real-world problems and aid others. Looking ahead, my aspiration is to continue learning and making meaningful contributions in my chosen profession.

Tell us about the courses or workshops you have taken with PLaCE. Why did you take them and how have they helped you?

The courses I took with PLaCE made me feel right at home during my time at Purdue. My instructor was incredibly supportive and encouraged us to do our best, which was especially helpful during the adaptation phase. These courses provided a supportive environment and equipped me with essential skills for academic success. Overall, the PLaCE courses played a significant role in helping me adjust to Purdue and feel more confident in my studies.

What are some of the best experiences or memories that you have had at Purdue so far? What is one of your favorite spaces at Purdue?

One of the best experiences I've had at Purdue so far is attending community events on the weekends, where we come together to share a meal and connect as a community. These gatherings have provided a sense of belonging, making me feel like a part of something bigger than myself. Additionally, one of my favorite spaces at Purdue is the Social Studies library, where I can look over thousands of books.

What advice would you give to new international students to help them succeed at Purdue, especially as it relates to English language improvement and communication or cultural adjustment?

New international students at Purdue, don't hesitate to practice English and make new friends. Join campus activities and clubs to learn about American culture. Seek help when needed and use the University’s resources. Be proactive in learning from every opportunity. Looking back, I wish I had known to engage with the community from the start. I’m sure you'll succeed at Purdue.
