CLA Student Organization Diversity Program Grant
The CLA Diversity Action Committee is the sponsor of this exciting opportunity for our students to promote multicultural awareness and diversity on campus. All undergraduate student organizations in the college are eligible to apply for a $250 grant to fund an activity or program to improve the campus climate for diversity. A CLA student organization is defined as an organization in which 50% (or more) of its undergraduate members are enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts.
Past recipients include:
The Purdue Anthropology Society who used their grant to fund "Global Cultural Awareness Day." The Student English Association sponsored a reading by Vietnamese American poet Bao Phi and the Society for Religious Studies hosted a week long event promoting awareness of religious diversity at Purdue.

Recent Activities
During the 2011-12 academic year, the CLA Diversity Action Committee created a college diversity website including information on its activities, student diversity initiatives, and a statistical profile of faculty, staff, and students in the college. In November, the committee awarded the third annual Student Organization Diversity Program grant to the Society for Religious Studies for a week -long event promoting awareness of religious diversity at Purdue. In April, the committee held a forum, “Bridging Community to Education: Liberal Arts in Action” in which two faculty members and a graduate student presented diversity related projects that focus on education, two of which are based in the local community.
