  • Much of my research examines two questions: What do workers want from their jobs? and To what extent do workers get what they want?  I am particularly interested in the extent to which employees can arrange their work schedules to accommodate their lives outside of work.  The modern labor market produces both over-employment and under-employment, schedules that vary wildly and schedules that are inflexible.  Workers also vary greatly in the amount of input they have when determining their work schedules.  I am currently studying these issues as part of the Measurement Working Group of the Employment Instability, Family Well-being, and Social Policy Network (EINet) at the University of Chicago.
