Welcome to the homepage for the Arabic Language Program at Purdue University! 

The Arabic program in SLC at Purdue offers introductory, intermediate and advanced Arabic language courses. As Arabic is considered one of the critical languages of national security, students are able to reach advanced levels of proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic. 

The program also offers courses in English on Arabic literature such ARAB 230 Arabic literature in translationARAB 239 Women Arab Writers and courses that focus on intellectual, literary, artistic and cultural themes in Arab and Muslim cultures, such ARAB 587 Modern Arab Thought and ARAB 281 Islamic Civilizations and Culture.

Students in the Arabic program can use the courses towards the Minor in Arabic and an Interdisciplinary Minor in Islamic Studies.

Students who are native speakers of Arabic cannot enroll in Arabic as a foreign language ARAB 101 through ARAB 302.
