Proposals for exhibitions

Proposals for exhibitions in the Purdue Galleries are accepted annually
through October 1 for review the following spring.

The Purdue University Galleries are a series of individual exhibition spaces managed as a unit by staff, student workers, and interns. The Galleries are funded through the university's College of Liberal Arts and through grants and contributions. All exhibitions and programs are free and open to the public.

Exhibits rotate every few weeks through the school year and are presented in the Robert L. Ringel Gallery in Stewart Center Gallery and the Patti & Rusty Rueff Galleries in Pao Hall.

Exhibitions are carefully chosen to offer consistently high quality while providing a variety of perspectives on art and society, in support of the educational mission of the University. Due to the diverse scope of study and research taking place at the University, the Galleries has chosen to concentrate on exhibitions of regional, national, and international appeal, featuring artists with a proven commitment to artistic exploration through contemporary aesthetics.

All media will be considered for exhibition, including new and emerging technologies. Proposals received by October 1 will be presented to the exhibition review committee, which meets each year in early spring. Proposals should be professionally presented for review and should include the following:

  • A cover letter describing the proposed exhibition, associated costs, installation requirements (including spatial, environmental, and security requirements), and available dates.
  • A resume/vita and professional exhibition record.
  • At least ten and no more than twenty images representative of work and an accompanying text listing of the images, including title, media, dimensions, and date of completion.
  • Proposals sent via email to galleries@purdue.edu are preferred.
  • If mailing your application, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (at least 9 x 12”) for return of information, if desired.

The Purdue Galleries insures all works while on exhibit and covers printing and distribution costs of an announcement mailer for each exhibit period. A shipping and transportation honorarium is provided whenever possible to individual artists.

All inquiries and materials should be addressed to:
