Faculty Grievance Procedures
Faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions normally proceed in a straightforward manner. However, a faculty member may believe he or she has been ill served by a University decision relating to reappointment, promotion, or some other aspect of employment. In this case, a grievance may be filed relating to that decision.
Purdue's policy covering grievances filed by members of the faculty is Faculty Grievances (I.B.1), "Teaching, Research, and Outreach Faculty Grievances." This document describes the procedures which should be followed for hearing a faculty member grievance. If faculty have questions about the grievance procedure, they may consult the office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.
