Purdue University College of Liberal Art

Joel Ebarb

Please join me in congratulating Joel Ebarb, senior associate dean for undergraduate education and international programs, for being selected for membership in the Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Northwestern State University of Louisiana.

NSU picked Joel to be inducted on April 17 because of “his many contributions and leadership in the world of academics, especially as they relate to theatre.”

Joel was one of nine students in the NSU theatre program when it started and served as the costumer alongside its three initial faculty members according to Bill Brent, director of operations and special projects at the Dear School. “We will always remember Joel as someone who ‘took a chance’ on our small program those many years ago and left his mark here just as he has now at Purdue. We are extremely proud of him,” Brent said.

Joel has been a Purdue faculty member since 1997 and served as chair of the Department of Theatre from 2011-15 before accepting his current leadership position within the College of Liberal Arts.

Congratulations, Joel!
