Randy Roberts

Please join me in congratulating Randy Roberts, 150th Anniversary Professor and distinguished professor of history, for the recent release of the documentary Blood Brothers: Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali, based on his book and research.

The book, Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship Between Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali, written by Randy Roberts and Johnny Smith, was published in 2016 and is credited with being the first book to bring to life the influential friendship between Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali.

The documentary was released on Netflix on September 9th, directed by Marcus A. Clarke and produced by Kenya Barris. The film features never before seen archival footage and the story behind the friendship between the civil rights leader and the boxing legend.
