March - Kathryn Cramer Brownell

Please join me in congratulating Kathryn Cramer Brownell, associate professor of History, on her selection as the 2023 Lu Ann Aday Award recipient for excellence in the humanities and social science research at Purdue.

This award recognizes the impact that Katie’s groundbreaking research, publications, and public outreach have had on fundamentally transforming our nation’s understanding of American political history. Katie will address the Purdue community on her research accomplishments at the Office of Research’s 2023 Excellence in Research Awards Distinguished Lecture event on April 22, 2024. She will also be recognized at the Faculty Honors Ceremony in early May.

The Lu Ann Aday Award, established in 2017, recognizes a member of the Purdue University faculty who has made a major impact on his or her field in the humanities and social sciences. Aday herself received an honorary doctorate of social sciences from Purdue after coming to the College of Liberal Arts for a master's and doctoral degree in sociology.

Congratulations, Professor Brownell!
