T. Cole Jones
Please join me in congratulating T. Cole Jones, associate professor of history, on receiving the Excellence in American History Book Award from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for his book, Captives of Liberty: Prisoners of War and the Politics of Vengeance in the American Revolution.
The award “recognizes distinguished historical literary works of non-fiction and/or biographies that have made an original contribution to the body of historical knowledge or added new information to previously familiar materials.” Jones and his wife were invited to Washington, DC in June to accept the award at a DAR banquet held in their national headquarters. His book was later featured in their membership publications.
