Donald Platt

Please join me in congratulating Donald Platt, professor of English and creative writing, for being awarded the 2022 Off the Grid Poetry Prize for his eighth collection of poetry, Swansdown, published by Grid Books this past October. This prize “recognizes the work of older poets and highlights important contemporary voices in poetry.” Winners receive $1,000 and publication, promotion, and distribution of their book in print and audio formats.

Twenty-four of Platt’s poems, totaling 63 pages, have appeared within the past year, or are forthcoming in, Alaska Quarterly Review, Colorado Review, Diode, The Wallace Stevens Journal, Third Coast, Cimarron Review, Seneca Review, Florida Review, Fence, Tupelo Quarterly, Gulf Coast, Five Points, Southern Review, Iowa Review, Yale Review online, and The Atlantic Monthly online.
