Rachel Einwohner
Please join me in congratulating Rachel Einwohner, professor of sociology, on the recent publication of a new book, Hope and Honor: Jewish Resistance during the Holocaust, published by Oxford University Press (2022).
The book offers a powerful account of Jewish resistance efforts in Nazi-occupied Europe and shows why such resistance was so remarkable. These findings have implications for protest and resistance under a broad range of repressive conditions.
Work on the book was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
