Rayvon Fouché

Please join me in congratulating Rayvon Fouché, professor of American studies, on his appointment as division director for the National Science Foundation’s Social and Economic Sciences Division.

Ray’s research focuses on technological innovation. He is the author of “Game-Changer: The Technoscientific Revolution in Sports.” It explores the relationship among sport, science, and technology and the impact of advances in materials, training, nutrition, and medicine on athletic performance and competitive sports. He was previously director of the American studies program.

At NSF, he will serve as division director through its rotator program which recruits U.S. scientists, engineers, and educators for limited-term leadership positions of up to four years. Ray will oversee more than a dozen research programs focused on society and the economy. His NSF appointment begins on Feb. 28, 2022.

Congratulations, Professor Fouché!
