Alejandra Ortega

Please join me in congratulating Alejandra Ortega, Ph.D. student in English, for her recent 2021-2022 AAUW American Dissertation Fellowship award for her project “Stories in the form of places’: Modern Literary Domestic Spaces.”

This marks only the second time an AAUW (American Association of University Women) fellowship has been awarded to a member of the Purdue English Department. Alejandra will receive $20,000 to complete her final year of dissertation writing.

Alejandra’s research interests include 20th and 21st century literature and serves as production manager for Modern Fiction Studies, a Purdue-run journal published by Johns Hopkins University Press.

Congratulations, Alejandra Ortega!
