Elle Rochford

Please join me in congratulating Elle Rochford, Ph.D. candidate in sociology, for winning the Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award.

This award, which includes a $1,000 prize, is Purdue’s highest honor presented to teaching assistants. Previously the Department of Sociology’s Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award winner, Elle has been instructor of record for Introduction to Sociology, Marriage and Family, and Deviance and Social Control. She has also supervised two undergraduate research assistants and been selected as sociology’s Teaching Academy Graduate Teaching Award nominee.

Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award applicants must be full-time graduate students who have served as a graduate teaching assistant for at least two sessions during their Purdue graduate program. Elle has taught the aforementioned sociology courses a total of seven times.

Congratulations, Elle!
