T. Cole Jones
Please join me in congratulating T. Cole Jones, assistant professor of history, for two recent accomplishments.
Cole has been awarded the King’s College – London Georgian Papers Fellowship to conduct research at the Royal Archives, Windsor Castle.
In addition, Cole has published Captives of Liberty: Prisoners of War and the Politics of Vengeance in the American Revolution (Penn Press, 2019). Author James Kirby Martin wrote that the book “shines a brilliant new light” on the brutality of the Revolutionary War, adding that it “helps shatter longstanding images of a restrained, almost civilized military conflict. Beautifully written, Captives of Liberty is a magisterial work.”
