Zeba Kokan
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation identifies and recognizes college juniors who devote themselves to public service. As recipients of the premier graduate fellowship in the United States for those pursuing careers as public service leaders, Truman Scholars are recognized for leadership, public service, and academic excellence.
Generally, one student from Indiana receives this award each year and is in competition with Hoosiers studying at universities across the U.S. The third Purdue student to be named a Truman Scholar in four years, Zeba has distinguished herself through academics, extensive work in a variety of research internships, volunteer experience, and campus involvement.
Among the many notable Truman Scholars are Supreme Court Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch, former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, and countless elected officials, academics, and nonprofit leaders.
