TJ Kim and Students

Please join me in congratulating TJ Kim, associate professor of industrial design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, and his seven students who won awards in the 2019 “Channel Cup” Industrial Design Contest.

Winning students Jack Judge, Quincy Miller, Carolyn Quick, Benjamin Gromosky, Bheumsoo Kim, Clayton Landis, and Garrett Becker have been invited to China to present their design work in October. Winning entrants receive a scholarship, trip to China, prototyping of their design, exhibition of their work at a design center in Jinjiang for a year, and publication in a design book. Also, as finalists in the competition, they will have a chance to win up to $50,000 in prize money and production opportunity working with manufacturers.

This year’s contest featured approximately 10,000 entries from around the world. Purdue had three students win the design award in 2018.

Congratulations, Professor Kim and students!
