Jill Suitor

Please join me in congratulating Jill Suitor, distinguished professor of sociology, for being awarded $755,623 by the National Institute on Aging to fund the first year of T3 data collection for the Within-Family Differences Study.

As principal investigator, Jill will collaborate on this research with co-investigator Megan Gilligan, associate professor of human development and family studies at Iowa State University and Purdue graduate. This phase of the WFDS will focus on how the deaths of families’ oldest generations impact the health and well-being of their adult children and adult grandchildren.

The first two phases of the study, also funded by NIH, have resulted in more than 60 publications and have been featured more than 400 times in major news media outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Toronto Globe and Mail, Wall Street Journal, and NPR.

Congratulations, Professor Suitor!
