Ji-young Shin

Please join me in congratulating Ji-young Shin, a Ph.D. student in the Second Language Studies program in the English Department, who was selected as a recipient of the 2019 American Association for Applied Linguistics' Graduate Student Award

The American Association of Applied Linguistics is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious professional organization representing applied linguists in the United States. AAAL Graduate Student Awards are merit-based and given to graduate students whose single-authored proposals receive the highest rankings by three anonymous abstract reviewers.

Ji-young joins only seven others who were granted the award this year. The first Boilermaker to receive this award was Paul Matsuda in 1996. Ji-young will travel to Atlanta in March to receive her award at the annual AAAL conference.

Congratulations, Ji-young!
