Laura Zanotti

Please join me in congratulating Laura Zanotti, associate professor of anthropology, for receiving the Purdue University Faculty Scholar Award.

The University Faculty Scholars Program recognizes faculty members “who are on an accelerated path for academic distinction. Eligible faculty must hold the rank of tenured associate or full professor and have been in that rank for no more than five years. Faculty Scholars are appointed for a nonrenewable five-year term and receive an annual $10,000 discretionary allocation.”

As part of her work as an environmental anthropologist and interdisciplinary social scientist, Laura has worked for more than a decade with the Kayapó, an indigenous community in Brazil that she profiled in her book, Radical Territories in the Brazilian Amazon: The Kayapo’s Fight for Just Livelihoods (University of Arizona Press, 2016). Her lab supports a network of scholars across the Americas who partner with communities and use digital and media-based technologies to shed light on global challenges.

Congratulations, Dr. Zanotti!
