F. Robert Sabol
Please join me in congratulating F. Robert Sabol, professor of art education in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts, for being selected by his peers for the National Art Educator of the Year Award from the National Art Education Association.
This award is the highest recognition that anyone in the field of visual arts education can receive. Bob will receive the honor at the 2018 NAEA National Convention in March.
Bob has held numerous positions with the NAEA, including president, president of the Public Policy and Arts Administration issues group, and Western Region Vice President. He has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the NAEA Board of Directors, has been honored as an NAEA Distinguished Fellow, and won the Distinguished Service Within the Profession Award, the Manual Barkan Memorial Award for Exemplary Research in Art Education, and Western Region Higher Education Art Educator of the Year distinction. He is presently serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Art Education Foundation and is recognized in the Purdue University Book of Great Teachers.
