Leigh Raymond

Please join me in congratulating Leigh Raymond, professor of political science and director of the Purdue University Discovery Park Center for the Environment, on his selection for a U.S. Scholar grant from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Leigh will spend the fall semester of 2018 as the University of Ottawa Fulbright Research Chair in Sustainable Economy. In this position, he will extend his research on the politics of carbon pricing policies by looking in depth at the origins and durability of both provincial and federal carbon pricing policies in Canada. His research will focus in particular on the political process for determining the uses of revenue from carbon pricing.

The Fulbright program, which aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. Since its inception in 1946, more than 380,000 scholars have participated in the program.

Congratulations, Professor Raymond!
