Venetria Patton

Please join me in congratulating Venetria Patton, head of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, for winning the Violet Haas Award for 2017-18.

The Violet Haas Award recognizes individuals, programs, or departments that have facilitated the advancement of women in hiring, promotion, education, and salary, or have enhanced a positive professional climate for women at the university. Venetria is one of three winners this year, alongside Levon Esters and Neil Knobloch from the Department of Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication.

The Violet Haas and Leadership in Action award winners and Violet Haas Memorial Fellowship winner will be honored at a Dec. 6 reception at the Purdue Memorial Union Anniversary Drawing Room at 4:30 p.m.

The Violet Haas Award is named for an electrical engineering professor who worked at Purdue from 1962-1986 and helped develop the university’s chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. This will be the 28th annual Violet Haas Award ceremony.

Congratulations, Professor Patton!
