Robert Browning

Please join me in congratulating Robert Browning, professor of communication and political science, for receiving a $100,000 grant from edX to develop a massive open online course (MOOC) in American government to help high school students prep for the Advanced Placement (AP) government test. EdX is an online learning destination and MOOC provider founded by Harvard and MIT that offers courses from multiple universities and institutions. Robert’s online course will prepare students at high schools that do not offer AP courses to take the American Government exam and potentially earn college credit.

Robert has served as the founding director of the C-SPAN Archives, now operated by C-SPAN in the Purdue Research Park, since 1987. He plans to integrate materials from these archives into the delivery of the course. He will be assisted in developing the course by Josh Scacco, assistant professor of communication, and Chad Mueller, lead instructional designer in Digital and Professional Education. The course will be offered through edX in the spring of 2017.

Congratulations, Professor Browning!
