Ryan Ma
Please join me in congratulating Ryan Ma, a senior studying political science, for developing a social media app for iOS devices and co-founding an accompanying startup company to commercialize it.
Unlike the majority of social media applications currently on the market, Ryan’s app “Meemees” allows its users to connect with their family and friends in an ad-free, spam-proofed digital environment. Avoiding traditional advertising-based revenue models, Ryan is developing a scheme that raises revenue when users initiate third-party purchases within the app, empowering the consumer rather than the advertiser.
Working out of The Anvil, a co-working space in West Lafayette, Ryan has co-founded a startup company that is further developing the application. He hopes to bring Meemees to Android devices soon.
